Our team at Physio-logical is celebrating our business birthday reaching an impressive 15 years in business.
I am so proud that our Physiotherapy clinic, which was started from my living room, hits 15 years in business today!
Natalie’s business journey
I first started the business from my one-bedroom house in Basingstoke, seeing clients on my treatment couch in my living room.
I initially worked within the NHS but decided to set up my own business to provide a more hands-on approach to clients and get people back to 100 per cent health.
I took on my first member of staff before having my children so I could spend more time with them.
Now our business is based within the recently converted stable block in the grounds at Stansted Park and I employ a team of five.
I am really pleased that I have grown the business significantly over the last 15 years, but also have had many personal milestones, such as having my two children – Henry, 9 and Phoebe, 7 – and moving to Denmead.
Volunteer Physiotherapist at 2012 Olympics
One of my proudest moments since starting the business was taking part in the 2012 Olympics, treating the windsurfing and sailing Olympians in Weymouth.
Along my journey I also spent a time offering corporate physiotherapy at Vodafone headquarters.
‘The last 15 years has gone by so quickly, but looking back and what we’ve achieved is a great feeling. The most rewarding thing is knowing that we’re not just getting people to a manageable point in their health, but we’re getting them 100 per cent better. Whether it’s helping them to run a marathon or just allowing them to interact with and pick up their grandkids, it’s so rewarding.
A personal Thanks to my Team and support network
‘On a personal level, thanks to my amazing team I’m still able to spend time with my kids, drop them off and pick them up from school every day and keep that work life balance. That’s really important to me and I wouldn’t have that if I didn’t make the decision to set up 15 years ago.’
Helping to give back to Charities
Over the years myself, with the help of my team and my family, have raised thousands of pounds for various charities including Rowans Hospice, Macmillan and Cancer Research.
The total amount we have raised for charity, which was achieved through different running and sporting challenges, among other things, is around £10,000!
Business achievements
As a business we have made the finals of several awards, including ‘Employer of the Year’ in the Venus Woman Awards in 2018 and ‘Community Business of the Year’ in the FSB awards in 2020.
As a team we have treated and helped more than 7,000 clients and have received more than 150 Google reviews.
Future business plans
I am taking part in the University of Portsmouth’s Scale Up course and I plan to continue to grow our business to offer more services, including a Corporate Physiotherapy Service to local businesses to help with staff retention, staff performance, productivity, and motivation, and with this I plan to employ more staff too.
Thank you!
I couldn’t have achieved what I have over the last 15 years without my amazing family, team and the many recommendations from consultants, local businesses, friends and families, so a big thank you to you all.
