From a one-bedroom house in Basingstoke to the grounds of Stansted Park the story of Physio-logical, the people who made it, and the community that keeps us going.
By Natalie March, Founder and Clinical Director July 2026 Our Story 18 Years Community
Eighteen years. When I sit with that number for a moment, it genuinely takes my breath away.
Before I started Physio-logical, my dad said something to me that I have never forgotten. He told me that if I worked for myself, I would have no one to blame if it did not work out. It was not said to put me off. It was said to make me think. And it did. Because it also meant that if it did work out, that would be entirely mine too.
It was 2008 when I took that leap, treating patients in my one-bedroom house in Basingstoke. I had a clear vision from the very start, to offer something different from what the NHS could provide. More time with patients. More hands-on treatment. And a genuine focus on rehabilitation that went all the way back to helping people achieve every single goal they had, not just getting them out of pain and sending them home. I wanted to give people their lives back.
There was no grand plan, no business strategy, no investor. There was just that belief, my dad’s challenge ringing in my ears, and an absolute determination to make it work. That belief has not changed for a single day in eighteen years.
What has changed is absolutely everything around it.
Where it all began
Those early days were equal parts terrifying and exhilarating. Every patient who came through the door was a leap of faith theirs in me, and mine in this idea that a small independent clinic could become something truly meaningful. Slowly and steadily, it did.
As the clinic grew, so did the team, the services and the ambitions. We moved from Basingstoke to a gym in Havant and not to our beautiful home today at The Stable Block, Stansted Park in Rowlands Castle, a converted stable block on a 130-acre country estate, with free parking, gorgeous grounds, a farm shop, garden centre and a tea room on site. It is, without question, the most unlikely and wonderful clinic setting in Hampshire.
“To restore, maintain and enhance people’s wellbeing and physical activity, so they can live a better life.”
Natalie March, Physio-logical’s mission since day one
A moment that defined everything
In 2012, something happened that I will never forget. I was selected to treat Olympic windsurfing and sailing athletes at the London 2012 Games in Weymouth. Standing in those treatment rooms, working alongside athletes competing at the very highest level in the world, I felt the full weight and privilege of what physiotherapy can do at its best.
But that experience did not make me want to work exclusively with elite athletes. If anything, it made me more committed to the people right here in our local community who deserve exactly the same quality of care. The retired teacher who wants to keep playing bowls. The runner training for their first 10k. The grandmother who is frightened of falling. They all deserve the very best, and that is what we are here to give.

In the community all year round
One of the things I am most proud of is the work we do beyond the clinic walls. This year we have been busier than ever in the local community, attending Live Longer Better events in Havant, working with Havant Council, building partnerships with Elevation Fitness and PureGym, and delivering workshops and classes to people across Hampshire who might never have walked through our clinic door otherwise.
Our falls prevention programme has helped older adults across the area build strength, balance and confidence. Our back pain, shoulder and golf workshops have given people practical tools they can use every day. These sessions matter enormously to us because they reach people who need support but have not yet taken that first step.
2026 highlight – London to Brighton for the BHF
In June 2026, clinical lead James Morris and I completed the London to Brighton Bike Ride, cycling 54 miles and raising over £2,000 for the British Heart Foundation. It was featured in The News Portsmouth. It was one of the hardest and most rewarding things either of us has ever done and a perfect example of what this team is made of.

Welcoming new team members
We are thrilled to have welcomed new physiotherapists to the Physio-logical team this year. Growth like this does not happen overnight it is the result of eighteen years of building trust, delivering results and caring genuinely about every person who comes through our door. We are so excited about what this expanded team will mean for our patients and our community.
The team that makes it all possible
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart
Physio-logical is not me. It is James, Sam, Poppy, Josie, Kate and Jo and every team member who has been part of this journey over eighteen years who show up every single day with skill, warmth and genuine care for every person who walks through our door. The feedback we receive about this team moves me every time. Patients do not just come back because their shoulder is better. They come back because they feel heard, supported and genuinely cared for. Building a team of people who truly, genuinely care is the thing I am most proud of in eighteen years. Thank you all.
Here is to many more years
Our mission today is exactly the same as it was in that one-bedroom house in Basingstoke in 2008. We take time to listen, help you to move freely, and ease your pain so you can live a better life. We want to grow our membership to keep you all living your best lift.
Thank you to every single patient, colleague, referrer and member of our community who has been part of this journey. You are the reason we do what we do, and you are the reason we are so excited about what comes next.
“Here is to eighteen years and to many, many more.”
